Acacia Quilt Guild
                               General Meeting
   October 4, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 6:55 by Sonia Das.

Birthdays for the month of October were celebrated.

Many ladies shared their quilts with us at Show and Tell.

The next Board meeting is October 16.

Minutes of the September meeting were approved.

Phyllis and Karen gave the pending calendar through January, as follows:
*October – Peggy Timmons, Crazy Quilt
*November – Lyn Brown- Holiday Runners, Quilts, and More- workshop:   Friendship Star Strip Quilt
*December- Christmas potluck and ornament exchange, plus Don Beld; History of Biblical Blocks- workshop: World Without End
*January- Cindy Garcia; Trunk Show- workshop: Karen Waterbury, Square in a Square

Treasurer’s report: We are in the black!

Hospitality Committee: Thank you to all who brought goodies tonight!

Special guest: Barbara Winkler
*Spoke briefly about Quilts of Valor.
*October 27 is Make A Difference Day.

Susan Stokes presented fundraisers that she would like to organize:
*Sees Candies gift certificate sales- needs to order a minimum of 40 certificates, which we would sell for $14 each
* Make quilt squares to put together and sell on line- need 44 squares per quilt

Membership Committee:
Attendance tonight: 45 members, 6 guests, and 1 new member

Philanthropy Committee:
*Will have the big drawing next month for those who have turned in quilts

Opportunity Quilt Committee:
*Will meet on the 10th to discuss promoting the quilt
*We have 2 months to sell tickets. The drawing will take place         at the December meeting.

Sew So Much:
*The next gathering is October 26 at the Bunney Hutch.
*We will not combine Philanthropy with Sew So Much after this month as there were complaints regarding this.

Ways and Means Committee:
*We again have the Holiday Boutique tonight. Go at break time to purchase items.

Sunshine and Shadows Committee:
      *No report

It was announced that the Acacia quilt is missing from our storage area.

A mid-season secret pal exchange will start in January. If you are interested, contact Phyllis Victor.

Phyllis introduced Peggy Timmons, who presented a very interesting trunk show.

Door prizes and Opportunity Basket drawings were held.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30.
